After naming him one of the new bands to watch at last month’s Sasquatch Festival near Seattle, Spin.com now has an exclusive track from Owatonna-reared synth-pop wunderkind Owl City’s upcoming CD, “Ocean Eyes” (due Sept. 1 via Universal/Republic). The song is called “Strawberry Avalance.” Click here for the link. I’ll be curious to hear what anyone thinks of it, what with all the hype around this kid (Adam Young).

Mr. Owl will play another nearly hometown gig Sept. 26 at the Cabooze. Yeah, not sure why that sweet Christian kid is playing there, but considering his previous two shows at the Varsity sold out far in advance, I’d go ahead and buy tickets when they go on sale June 10 if you want to see him.Â
