Big Wu bringing back the Family Reunion
Posted on June 3rd, 2009 – 11:56 AMBy Chris Riemenschneider
After a couple years off, in which time the band also took a breather and the “Bella” festivals took its place, the Big Wu is bringing back its Family Reunion festival. The 10th incarnation has moved to July 10-12 but it’s still at the usual site, Harmony Park in Geneva, Minn (near Albert Lea). The fact that the Wu is doing another reunion can be taken as a sign that the band itself is also returning to more of a full-time status, and it’s even counting semi-former guitarist Jason Fladager (who went on to form God Johnson) as a regular member again. The guys are playing some warm-up gigs before the fest, including a free one in Peavey Plaza for the Alive After Five series on June 18.
