The ever-popular Kings of Leon will return on Sept. 28 to Target Center, the half-arena setup. Tickets are expected to go on sale on June 12.

In other concert news, the Fine Line has added K’Naan on July 8 and Pete Yorn on Aug. 12-13. Dr. John returns to the Dakota on June 30 and July 1.

Kings of Leon are finally where they wanted to be.
Playing their now-stale arena rock, sporting Jonas Brothers-like hairdos, listening to their music echo off the walls of a canyon like the Target Center.
This is what the boys wanted, now they got it.
The demise of a potentially great American band is now complete.

kolgone’s statement is all too similar from someone who once loved their indie rock band, then the band got too much exposure and eventually he turns on his once loved indie rock band.
Target Center did a 100k + renovation last fall to their sound. I’ve heard it’s much improved. This may be a good show. I am currently enjoying KOL’s new CD.
The Pete Yorn two night stand at the Fine Line should be a good time. Great live act if you haven’t seen him.

Jon you missed the most important booking of the summer; according to their website Slobberbone is reuniting and playing at the 400 Bar Aug 15!

While I agree that the Kings of Leon have been seeking popularity, is that necessarily a bad thing? Some bands grow into the pop stream (KOL) and some grow out (Pearl Jam) but does this have anything to do with musical integrity or hair styles? KOL’s music has evolved but one thing is clear - they put on a high energy, focused and on-point live show - more than can be said for most of the acts out there. All that said, a 1/2 Target Center show is a sad venue and I’m happy I caught them at First Ave. last time!
