Gaslight Anthem’s makeup gig at Epic (!)

****This show has moved to the Cabooze, see update above.
Don’t you hate it when a band does this: Instead of the Varsity Theater, where it was supposed to perform in April (but canceled due to illness), the Gaslight Anthem is now booked to play the much bigger Epic nightclub on Oct. 3. I think Epic is a nice, hi-fi, sleek dance club and all that. But for a band playing blue-collar, Springsteen- and Clash-esque rock ‘n’ roll, that’s about as good a fit as Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore. Bad rock stars! Bad rock stars!

First Ave was booked already on 10/3

Does anyone know if they’re selling any additional tix for the make-up show? I was out of town for the show postponed in April.
of course they will… the Varsity only holds 650, Epic like 1600
there will be plenty of tickets to be had, and i know tons of folks who bought tickets for the Varsity who won’t be going to the show @ Epic (myself included) either
But really, aren’t they just being Springsteen like and looking to get paid? Don’t you give bruce crap for milking the twin cities for big tickets every six months? (I of course could be confusing you with Bream, if so my bad.)
It’s not like they’re playing the Myth, or trying to step up to Target Center.
Obviously they’ve outgrown the Varsity, so now all the “saw them first” snobs will bail. Good. Music is meant to be heard, and musicians deserve a decent paycheck. Thanks for making room for me, solace. I’ll enjoy the show.
Oh, and Joe Mama: when’s the last time you turned down a pay raise at YOUR job? Just curious why it’s OK for you to make a living, but not a band…
Um, I believe I was defending the decision. Lay off of the caffine there wimmie.
oh i have nothing against the larger venue, that was to be expected fully, but if you’ve never been to Epic, this show will likely be your first and last time there
Apologies for the rants, criticism deserved and acknowledged. My bad all the way around.
Update: additional tickets onsale Saturday 6/13 and, according to Ticketmaster, the show has been moved AGAIN to the Cabooze.
