If there is any positive fallout from the Pretenders moving from the Minnesota Zoo to the Orpheum on Aug. 19, it’s the ticket prices.  At the zoo, all tickets were going to be $68, a record for that venue. Now they will be scaled from $31.50 to $61.50.

Cat Power and Juliette Lewis will open. Tickets will go on sale Friday.

In other concert news, Marianne Faithfull comes to the Guthrie on Oct. 12 and Tracy Chapman sings at the O’Shaughnessy on Aug. 15.

Gross. Still too expensive. Can I pay half price if I promise to leave for the Pretenders? I really only want to see Cat Power, so maybe 1/3 price?
