Didn’t act fast enough to get tix to the quickly sold-out recent shows by Phoenix and Grizzly Bear. Well, you’ll have a second chance this fall as both buzz bands return to town. Expect an announcement from First Avenue soon.

In other concert news, Rob Thomas will bring his solo act to the X on Oct. 11. And Sunny Day Real Estate — featuring singer Jeremy Enigk and the Foo Fighters drummer William Goldsmith and guitarist Nate Mendel — will reunite for a fall tour, including a Sept. 23 date at First Avenue.

William Goldsmith no longer plays with the Foo Fighters, he only played with them for a few years. Dave Grohl wanted more control of the drumming, so William left. Nate, however, is still in the band.
