So you think winter sports are over? Think again. Cole Aldrich will be playing in the McDonald’s All-American game in Lexington, Ky., tonight.

See it on ESPN live, starting at 7 p.m.

One of his teammate will be Kevin Love of Lake Oswego, Oreg., who played in the Gatorade Shootout at the Target Center in January and impressed.

And on Friday there is the Great 8 at Wakota Arena. Eight teams of senior boys playing hockey, a recruiter’s dream. Two games start a half an hour apart, so you can go back and forth between them.

Up in St. Cloud at Halenbeck, is the boys’ basketball all-stars series, a doubleheader involving four teams.

That series moves to the Gangelhoff Center at Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday.

There are a lot of great players in both all-star events, many of whom did not make the state tournament in their sport.

Here is one last chance to see them before they scatter to different schools across the region and the country.
