Cherry High School senior Laura Griffiths underwent heart surgery Thursday, with the procedure paid for by former U.S. senator Mark Dayton (read about it here).

I visited Laura in the hospital this morning. She will be going home later in the day. Mark Dayton also visited her this morning, although he had left before I arrived.

Laura is in great spirits, and her family couldn’t be happier. Here she is with family and friends.
