More from Elite Meet

Kudos to several athletes and teams from up north — where spring has never really arrived — for winning events at Friday night’s Hamline Elite track meet in St. Paul.
The first championship event of the meet, the boys’ 4×800 relay, was won by the Brainerd team of Luke Delany, Mitch Lorenz, Tyler Rose and Thomas Ruttger. The second-place team was Bemidji (I would put the runners’ names here if the meet had provided them), so that event was a great testament to cold-weather track teams.
Other winners from the coldest parts of Minnesota were Caitlin Dhein of St. Cloud Tech in the girls’ 100, Lindsy Mattson of Grand Rapids in the girls’ 400 and Hannah McAllister of Brainerd in the girls’ 800. Â
