Spring is in the air and we here in the Star Tribune preps sports department are busy covering warm-weather postseason action. But there’s some football news to pass along.

Osseo’s Dan Brown, who helped the Orioles win the Northwest Suburban Conference by hauling in 45 catches for 1,017 yards and 13 touchdowns, will play for Augsburg College. He had originally said he would walk-on with the Gophers.

Brown, a 6-5, 195-pound wide receiver, was a first-team all-state and first-team Star Tribune all-metro selection this season. He also averaged 12 points per game for the Orioles’ 28-1 basketball team.
