It’s mighty hard to putĀ stock in national high school rankings, but they sometimes make forĀ interesting discussions.

One such outfit, called PrepNation.com, has no Minnesota teams among its national top 25, but three among its rankings for the Midlands region. Those teams are two-time defending 5A champ Eden Prairie at No. 10, 2007 5A runner-up Cretin-Derham Hall at No. 12 and Minnetonka at No. 24. The No. 1 team in the Midlands (and No. 22 nationally) is Kansas City Rockhurst. Minnetonka will play a Thursday night game at Rockhurst on Oct. 9.

The first games for Minnesota teams will be Aug. 28-29.
