Lake Park-Audubon made things briefly interesting at the start of the fourth; the Raiders scored, recovered an onside kick, then scored again, and were back within two touchdowns with more than nine minutes to go.  The Royals recovered the next onside kick, though, and then iced the game with a six-minute drive, capped off with Shawn Lanners’s fourth touchdown pass.

A late interception ended up as LP-A’s sixth turnover of the game; credit the Royalton defense with giving its offense so many chances with short fields.  Take away the turnovers, and this game would have been very different.  As it was, though, Royalton just kept lining up in their three-back set (two wingbacks lined up outside the tackles, plus a fullback directly behind the quarterback) and just pounding away. Zach Lanners, who lined up at right wingback most of the game, swept around left end over and over, and ended the game with 173 yards rushing. When that got old, the Royals would turn and hand off to fullback Ryan Wiener, and let the senior pound the ball up the middle.  And whenever the defense focused up front, Shawn Lanners would roll out and find a receiver down the field.

Royalton moves on to face the Springfield/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg winner in the Prep Bowl.
