Winner of second semifinal looks like a "distinct" underdog??? Not to take anything away from Houston, but blowouts happen in the state playoffs every year - doesn't mean the team on the winning end will match up the same way with their next opponent. Again, maybe this Houston team is for real, but history tells us 56-14 over one team doesn't necessarily mean anything against the next.

vikson - you're thinking of the old Root River Conference. along with the teams you mentioned, it also included the La Crescent Lancers and the Lewiston Cardinals. And yes, Windom has been the Hurricanes since the 60's - I graduated in '73.

well, maybe my old age is worse than I thought, cause back in the 70s I could have sworn they were the Cyclones. Playing in the same conference as the Rushford Trojans, Peterson Tigers, Mable-Canton Cougars, Caledonia Warriors, and Spring Grove Lions. hmnmm

Uh, Houston has ALWAYS been the Hurricanes...at least for as long as I've been alive (and that would be 32 years).

As for Houston being in the La Crosse media market. That's a hogwash excuse. I've been reading the online Strib most of the season, and leading up to the playoffs it feels like they've been talking about every other 9-man team but Houston. Last I looked at the map, Kittson County, Stephen-Argyle, and Ada-Borup aren't exactly "close" to the Cities either. In fact, distance wise, Houston is closer to Minneapolis.

Well Houston in in the SE corner of the state in the La Crosse market, not sure how much coverage you'd expect from Minneapolis.
