The Spartans have to be feeling pretty good about themselves, despite being down early; some bend-but-don’t-break defense turned two Northfield possessions in the red zone into just two Wes Kramer field goals.  The second of the two came after an Orono fumble, deep in its own territory.

Northfield’s best weapon so far has been senior RB Cody Schmidt - he has nine carries for 53 yards, helping the Raiders hold the ball for over eight minutes in the first quarter.
