Halftime: New London-Spicer 14, DeLaSalle 6

DeLaSalle turned the pick-six tables on New London-Spicer, as AJ Barker stepped in front of a Wildcats pass and headed into the end zone.  The extra point hit a lineman in the rear end, and the score was 14-6.

Beyond Barker’s scamper, there hasn’t been much to mention either way in the second quarter.  NLS intercepted two passes, but could do nothing on the resulting possessions.  Meanwhile, the Islanders have been completely bottled up on offense; they have just four first downs so far.

These are teams that, combined, averaged 91 points per game.  And yet, we seem to be hunkering down for a defensive battle in this second half…
