Halftime: Royalton 20, Lake Park-Audubon 6

It’s not so much that Royalton is opening big holes for wingback Zach Lanners - it’s more that he’s just difficult to bring down. The sophomore is bouncing off tacklers left and right, to the tune of over 100 first-half yards. Royals QB Shawn Lanners and wideout Cole Jendro have connected twice for touchdowns, including once with less than 90 seconds to go in the half.
Lake Park-Audubon, meanwhile, is unable to find much rhythm offensively. Its pass offense seems to involve a lot of plays where both wideouts run to the same spot on the field, which tends to increase the number of defenders in the area. The Raiders have also been hurt by four first-half turnovers, including two on consecutive offense plays near the end of the first half.
(In between, Royalton threw a pick. The half ended thusly: fumble, interception, interception, kneel-down. The 15-minute break couldn’t come soon enough for either team.)
In stadium news, I think a couple of Lake Park-Audubon trumpet players actually passed out during a rendition of “Living on a Prayer.” The trumpet solos sort of died in the middle, and I’m a little worried. Medic!

Clearly, someone needs to fire Brad Childress.
