The board meeting is winding down. Here are a couple of news items…

–In an effort to allow soccer players proper time to rest and recover during the first week of preseason practice, the board ruled that high school players can no longer take part in club soccer tryouts or tournaments once high school practices begin. The change is supported by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association.

–Carol Bomben, a school board member from Eden Prairie, is the newest MSHSL board member. She replaces Lisa Fobbe of Zimmerman, who resigned from the board and was elected to the state Senate.
