Shelby Amsley-Benzie made several big stops for Warroad in the final three minutes of the first period to keep Blake’s edge at only 3-1. Top-seeded Blake is outshooting No. 2 Warroad 11-3. Warroad will begin the second period on the power play, however — the result of a goaltender interference call on Blake after Amsle-Benzie thwarted a 2-on-0 break.

Props to Warroad’s band. I’m no John Millea, but I can appreciate a band that goes the extra mile. And right now, Warroad’s crew is bringing Finger Eleven’s “Paralyzer” into the mix. Well-played, kids.
