I just listened to the St. Cloud Cathedral band play the Star Spangled Banner. In a moment, Cathedral and Mahtomedi will start this year’s boys’ hockey state tournament with their Class 1A quarterfinal matchup. Mahtomedi’s players have all dyed their hair a yellowish-white shade. They are not the first to do it, nor will they be the last.
