While we have nothing official on the injury status of Mahtomedi’s Ben Marshall, a sophomore defenseman and Gophers recruit who missed the final two periods of the Zephyrs’ 5-2 loss to St. Cloud Cathedral. Head coach Jeff Poeschl said Marshall was taken to United Hospital in St. Paul and that before leaving, Marshall told him, “It hurts.” Marshall went hard into the back boards late in the first period. Poeschl said there is some concern that there was an injury to one of Marshall’s internal organs or that he broke a rib, but there is no information on Marshall’s exact condition/diagnosis.
