Does Osseo have to replicate what St. Cloud did earlier tonight to at least try and play with Hopkins? They have some size, but obviously it wouldn’t be enough where they could try and play them straight up (as Henry Sibley tried to do earlier in the season). I’m not sure Osseo has the guard play to play the game St. Cloud Tech played…well maybe Osseo’s just screwed. Haha.

Really? $10 to see the 1A semis?
What a joke.

Regarding last night’s Hopkins/Tech game…..I am surprised to be this much in the minority here…..Without the shot clock as part of the rules last night…the first half WAS NOT REAL BASKETBALL….this was the equivalent of Oliver McCall taking all those punches from Lennox Lewis years ago without McCall putting up his gloves to defend himself. Tech played not to win…only to lose by a lower margin…What does that prove? The only thing the first half proved was that Wolters is an excellent dribbler/ball handler…kudos to him. But WHAT WAS THE POINT? By doing what they did, they kept the Royals’ best players out of early foul trouble, because they could just stay back in the paint. Thus, the depth of Hopkins was really never tested, which just sealed the fate of Tech even more….After hearing all week from Tech fans about how they deserved to be the number two seed….what part of yesterday’s game proved this claim??? They didn’t want to go toe-to-toe with them? Instead, they played 45 feet from the basket, over and over, and over…I am really surprised about the rave reviews the Tech coach is getting….If this game doesn’t start the IMMEDIATE rule change for a 35 second shot clock, nothing will….I enjoyed seeing Steve Nash, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler, Isaih Thomas, and Terry Porter run the motion passing game….but they only had 24 seconds….seeing Tech do it for 2 minutes straight in a State Tournament, was like seeing a team (an undefeated team at that)wave the white flag…….Someone help me please understand.

They knew they couldn’t run and score with Hopkins, so what’d they do? They took the air out of the ball, and forced Hopkins to play defense. If you watched the first half, you would have seen that Tech was only down one…how is that “wanting to lose by a smaller margin”? If they don’t turn the ball over as much as they did in the second half, they have a chance to stay in that game and compete. There’s no shot clock, making what they did perfectly within the rules.
