New Life Academy defeated Maple Lake 7-0 to win its second consecutive Class 1A softball championship. Danielle Schmidt threw a two-hit shutout in the victory and set a record for strikeouts over an entire tournament.

Hermantown leads Minnehaha Academy early in Class 2A, while North St. Paul and Elk River are currently scoreless in 3A.
