MSHSL placement recommendation has been appealed

This just in: Someone from one of the conferences or schools involved in the Classic Lake placement process has filed an appeal with the MSHSL. Now the mystery is, where did that appeal come from?

The Lake Conference executive committee voted yesterday against filing an appeal. Did the Lake change its mind? The deadline for filing an appeal is July 5, so somebody wasted no time. If it wasn’t the Lake, then it was one or more of the Classic Lake schools.

My guess is that Wayzata may have filed the appeal, but I have no concrete evidence of that. During presentations to the placement committee, Wayzata was the only Classic Lake member that specifically asked to be placed into the Northwest Suburban.

If it is Wayzata and the appeal is successful, sending Wayzata to the Northwest Suburban, does that mean the Lake would stand down from its threat to break apart?

As always, more details to come as the soap opera continues
