Apparently Hutch is NO WHERE near as strong as people have been saying. What a pathetic display they put on against GSL. 41-0!!! They not only got beat, they got blown out. Personally, I can't wait to hear about the game against Farmington- that outta be equally as bad. I've heard over and over "this is Hutch's year"..."this is the class the coaches have been waiting for"- if this is the case, then I feel REALLY bad for the years to come. Not ONE kid on that Hutch team came to play. IT was unreal how pathetic that team was. The "Cornerbacks" (if you can call them that) are COMPLETE GARBAGE. They got run all over. Even the "stand outs" were absolutely pathetic. The most impressive players of the night- the second string. Player of the game for Hutch- the back-up quarterback. As least he's man enough and can think when it's not a textbook perfect play.

I'll take this a step further and say this: TJ- There is one person on your list of "who to watch" that SHOULD NOT BE there. He can't even contain his man.

Another long-term solution might be Chaska and/or Chanhassen moving back to the Lake, as eventually they will replace their enrollments and outgrow the Missota once again.

"Somehow I don’t think that Benilde will be the one - after all their Senior class is a whooping 210 students.

Nice try Percy."

Both Cretin and Benilde have comparable enrollments and both field competitive sports programs because of the nature of the two school's athletic cultures and their inherent ability to attract athletes. Rather than continuing to push MG to join, (something it will never do, time to end the pipe dream, Dave), this is where one potential solution lies. Another solution would be to merge Armstrong and Cooper (restoring "Robbinsdale" High??).

I would say the superintendents are by nature political animals and their quick decision generally reflects the feelings of the majority of their constituents in their respective districts, who have known this was coming for a long time. This was a good move for the Lake (and Prior Lake) to stand up to the League and the inherent inequities involved in going up against the super-district schools. They created a new conference that makes more geographic sense and has about the right number of teams in it.

They came, they saw, they left... Based on the fact that the lake voted to bolt so quickly - I can guarantee you that public / parent input on this was NIL!

School boards take 9 months to decide to use the toilet... This was all decided months ago by the supers of these schools...

Now - Come ON MAPLE GROVE - MAN UP!

Sorry, gotta disagree with you short ornery norwegian. I don't care if this kid got talked into being a getaway driver. If anything, it shows that he has ZERO common sense. Not to mention, he had to have known if he got caught, he would loose his scholarship and probably be in prison. I know if I were an AD or coach at Utah State, I simply could not trust an individual who made such a stupid choice.

Hey - I know this kid a little bit. He played AAU ball with my nephew, and he always seemed like a decent kid. Kind of quiet, definitely not a trouble-maker.

I think this is one of those cases where a basically good kid made a really terrible mistake in judgement. Do we throw away the rest of his life, or give him a chance to make something of himself?

And for people who don't know the whole story - he apparently let a friend talk him into being the get-away driver for an attempted bank robbery. Admittedly a bad choice, but he was not the instigator and, to the best of my knowledge, never entered the bank.

And as the article said, his HS coach vouched for him. I don't think Kenny Novak is going to go out on a limb for a bad kid.

Don't jump to conclusions when you don't have all the facts.

What a stupid, dumb move Utah State made.
But then again is that not the same state where men have a dozen wifes and 20 children?
