If you haven’t seen The Big Lebowski, A) That headline makes no sense to you, and B) You are doing yourself a great disservice. But anyway, we got a press release from the NBA yesterday indicating that starting today, on nba.com, fans can vote for the first-ever “All-Star Dance Team.” Three members of each dance team from all 30 NBA teams — let’s see, carry the four, that would be 90 dancers in all — will be competing for a chance to dance during All-Star weekend. Oh, and perhaps the funniest part of the entire release: The ballot “will feature 30-second video vignettes from each of the nominees to assist fans in the voting process and allow them the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the dancers’ professional as well as personal backgrounds.” It appears as though some writer was given explicit instructions to the effect of, “Hey, we know a bunch of guys are just going to be checking this out to ogle the dancers, but if you could describe it the most sanitized, least-creepy way, that would be great.”

Update: The link is live now. Acquaint away.Â
