It’s time

This morning is beautiful for so many reasons. But for you, the reader, it really boils down to two things, both having to do with the impending start of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. 1) This is the last time you have to look at the RandBall Tournament Challenge picture, at least at the top of the page. You have about two hours left to enter (as of writing). Get the picks in before tip-off. We’re up to 42 entries in our group, which, quite frankly, is outstanding. Who will win the coveted guest posts (one a week for a month! We’re giving them away like kittens!) and other fantastic prizes? That remains to be seen. If you’ve already registered: Don’t forget to make your second-round picks as the games are determined. If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s easy. Sign up here. Join the RandBallers group (password: randball). From there, proceed directly to Step 3: Put your click in the box. 32 times. Presto, instant picks.
That brings us to the second and most important reason today is so great: The tournament begins. And we can’t wait. There, we said it. Here’s how things are going work today (and for the foreseeable gameday future): Before each of the sessions, we’ll put up a preview of games thanks to the able assistance of Jon Marthaler (you might remember him from the comments as “Jon”). We’ll keep the preview as the top post, allowing for an open thread in the comments, until about the midpoint of each session (or “halftime,” if you prefer). Then we’ll do a fresh post on the action so far, thus starting a new comment thread. Dig? At some point, we’ll probably throw in some NCAA wrestling stuff, since we’re at the lovely Palace of Auburn Hills to cover the tournament right now.
Jon’s first preview will be up shortly. Let’s have some fun in the next few weeks, kids.
