Sometimes there are beautiful coincidences

1eddie.gifFrom the AP:

Eddie Griffin crashed a rare Ferrari Enzo worth $1.5 million into a concrete barrier while practicing at a racetrack Monday, destroying the car but escaping uninjured. The comedian was practicing for a charity race to promote his upcoming film, “Redline,” when he drove too fast around a curve at the Irwindale Speedway. Video footage showed the red sports car screeching before it ricocheted off the barrier with heavy damage to its front. “Undercover Brother’s good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can’t drive,” Griffin, referring to one his past films, said after the accident. The film’s publicist, Wendy Zocks, said Griffin was “doing OK.”

You know what? Maybe everyone named Eddie Griffin should just stay off the road for the good of humanity. We can only guess what he was doing at the time of the accident. Watching one of his own films? Not likely. (Note: We’d love to link to the Star Tribune story, if only it was still live. Sigh.)

The owner of the Ferrari (it was not Eddie Griffin’s) is up there for biggest idiot of the year. Who lets a comedian race a $1.5 million dollar car? The least we can hope is that this Eddie Griffin had *both* hands on the wheel while destroying a vehicle worth more than his movies have brought in at the box office combined.

So many jokes, none of them appropriate.

When I first heard this, all I could hope was that this was our Eddie “hardwood” Griffin.

Sooze: I would still go with the wrecking-your-truck-because-you-were-”positioning yourself for the lottery”-while-watching-The-Porn-as-you-drove as being the best part.
