Guest post: Sooze is true to her blog name

Second prize in the RandBall Tournament Challenge was far better than a set of steak knives. It was a $25 gift card to NBA City and one free guest post. Sooze, also known as Lizzy’s less surly half at Babes Love Baseball, was the winner and has promptly turned in her post. It’s hard to imagine someone loving baseball more than her.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the people of the Strib for a good reason to drive for 2 ½ hours: a $25 gift certificate to NBA City. Sweet. Maybe I’ll use that to buy some rubble and a tube sock to sling at Kevin McHale’s head when I make it there. What? It’s not an actual city? Oh. Kevin McHale lives in La-La Land? Gotcha.
Unlike what’s-his-name, I don’t have the luxury of breaking up all I have to tell the awesome RandBall readers into four posts. I get one. One post … one post that I have thus far used to threaten the life of a total moron who has ruined one of my favorite things in the whole world.
Ooh! Maybe I could talk about how RandBall and I are all knotted up in the StinkFest that is our fantasy baseball league. Yep. Tied for like, ninth place. We’re pretty awesome at what we do.
But what I really want to get into is the Minnesota Twins. Man, do I love me some baseball. It’s the crack of the bat, a ketchup, mustard, relish and onion-slathered Dome Dog, sitting on the couch (in front of my sweet new TV) listening to Bert count down the days to his birthday, hoping for an inappropriate remark. Maybe it’s the way Dick calls a homer like it’s the last one he’ll ever see. These things only feed my obsession with the Canadian Crusher, our Hometown Hero and the Venezuelan Heat. Oh, and Leeeeeeeew Ford. Ya gotta love Lew.
I think I’m gonna start a pool on how many times Gardy will get ejected this season or how many times Nick Punto will dive into first on a bunt … I love this game. Can I make a call? Your 2007 World Series: the Atlanta Braves vs. the Minnesota Twins. Michael Cuddyer gets a gold glove and is honored as the World Series MVP, Johan gets another Cy Young Award and who knows, our M&M boys might just have to fight over the battle title.
