Purdue as a No. 10 seed? Sorry, we have to disagree

Seeing as how it is only 11 months to the day before the next selection Sunday, why should anyone be surprised the Joe Lunardi’s first men’s basketball bracketology for 2008 is already up on ESPN.com. No offense to Joe, who was almost certainly forced by higher-ups to predict a field of 64 using no more than, what, a smidgen of educated guesswork, a dart board, a lucky T-shirt and a psychic hamster named Floyd, but this is just way to early. Like, oh, several months too early. Your 2008 No. 1 seeds: Kansas, Louisville, Memphis and North Carolina. Louisville and Memphis have the added extra-special bonus of having the “up” arrow next to their names. Yeah, those two teams have really been hot lately.

I am shocked, SHOCKED!!! that St. Joseph’s got one of the at-large spots. I wonder if there’s any reason why Lunardi might overrate St. Joseph’s.
Ooh, the Spartans getting a 2 seed
What a huge waste of time filling that out before you know whos turning pro and whos not. Even after the draft it’s a waste of time, I hope ESPN isn’t paying him for this..
Blah blah blah…
Isn’t today the day we find out if Randball is the father of Anna Nicole’s baby???
[…] One of the few newspapers that does blogging right, the Star Tribune in Minnesota, noticed something absolutely bizarre over at ESPN.com – they’re putting ‘Bracketologist’ Joe Lunardi to work early this year. […]

ESPN adding more unnecessary/haphazard/ill-conceived hype and “analysis”?! Unheard of!
Joe Lunardi really needs to go find a girlfriend or if he’s married, pay attention to his wife.
