Tuesday edition: Wha’ happened?

Really, did you expect different or better news, part I: It looks as though McHale’s Project 109 will extend into 2008 as long as he wants it to. That’s what owner Glen Taylor said, anyway. Hey, they’re just a player or two away. Like, perhaps LeBron James and Bill Russell in his prime. That pic, by the way, comes form Kurtrambis.com, which has an “anti-Kevin McHale page.”
Really, did you expect different or better news, part II: Sidney Ponson was shelled by the Yankees in his Twins debut, allowing all eight runs in an 8-2 loss. He had a tiny bit of bad luck in the first inning (broken bats, seeing eyes, a designated hitter playing left field and acting like he’s never seen a ball slice off a left-hander’s bat), but for the most part he was pretty bad. And he was sweating like he stole Derek Jeter’s glove. That is to say, sweating like Ruben Rivera.
Quickly now: Kevin Durant is going pro; Don Imus has been suspended for two weeks; UMD has asked athletes to stop using Myspace and Facebook. We would suggest the U of M do the same thing.
And a little bit of what Stu would call “nightmare fuel.” This was passed along by Swarmswarmswarm with the following e-mail:
So I was checking out the dude jumping the car and this was the next video. Ha. I forgot this guy sang! Awesome Blossom.
Joey Lawrence. Nothin’ my love can’t fix.
