Monday edition: Wha’ happened?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes: We’re not sure if they got the right guys yet, but positionally the Vikings nailed this draft. Five of the eight picks were spent on offensive skill players, including three wide receivers. More bodies. More playmakers. It’s a start. More thoughts from your humble proprietor on the draft weekend experience can be found here. By the way, has anyone started a collection for Brady Quinn to help him recoup the $18 million in guaranteed money he might have lost by slipping all the way to No. 22? Didn’t think so.
When Jesse Crain entered Sunday’s game in the eighth inning we had a strange feeling it would end exactly as it did: A smooth first inning, followed, by a walk-off second. Crain and Brandon Inge teamed up to prove us right. Our guy Joe C. obviously took note, too, as he wrote about Crain’s second multi-inning meltdown in a week.
Yesterday’s Barbaro-que was delicious. It would have been the horse’s fourth birthday Sunday. By pure guesswork, we won a game of Barbaro trivia yesterday. Perhaps Deadspin’s extensive coverage seeped into our brain.
Golden State! Mystery link!
