Guest post: Titus goes B-A-N-A-N-A-S

Where to begin? We haven’t a clue. Sadly, some of the links were broken. We patched it together as best we could. So we’ll just let Titus take it from here, and maybe he can explain more in the comments if necessary:
A call to arms
Hello and thanks to the proprietor for giving the lunatics the keys to the asylum, letting the fox guard the henhouse, and so on and so forth. Also ten thousand congratulations and best wishes for a prosperous and fruitful marriage. For my guest post, I would like to humbly suggest a call to arms to my fellow travelers who have had our psyches indelibly stamped by the experience of the 1991 World Series — whether the series gave you, as a Twins fan, a lifelong sense that there is goodness and justice and the possibility of true happiness on earth; or, as with our fair proprietor, some light of reflected glory in which to attend to your tomahawk-chop-worn elbows. Some of you may know that A&E has released some World Series — every inning, every play — on DVD: the 2005 White Sox win, the 2004 Red Sox win, etc. — which are nice and all, if you are into that sort of thing. What’s more, though, is they have delved into the archives to bring us some classic Series, like the 1987 Twins — much nicer, but it still doesn’t quite reach transcendence, which is what we’re really after here. Imagine if you will: maybe you just finished a 12-hour day in the iron mines; maybe you just came home from Shea stadium after watching the Twins get pasted; maybe you are a Braves fan — the point is, your soul is nearly empty, friend. And there is only one thing that can replenish it: three hours and forty-five minutes of a complete World Series broadcast, and then — nirvana ‘em all, Kirby. There’s no sign on the A&E site of an upcoming ‘91 series release, so how about we send them a little note to ask when we can expect it:
“Category : General Subject : World Series 1991 Collector’s Edition? Comment : Hello, The current world series collector’s edition sets are amazing; wonderful; thank you so much for providing them. However, I am wondering if there are any plans to release a collector’s edition set of the 1991 Twins/Braves series? It would be [redacted] news for any Twins fans looking to relive the magic, and [redacted] I’m sure, for [redacted] other baseball fans who see that series as one of the best ever. Thanks for your help.” What say you, A&E Home Video?
“Hello, Thank you for contacting A&E Home Video and The History Channel. Unfortunately, we do not have any plans to produce any other World Series Collector’s titles at this time. We do encourage you to keep checking our website for information on the latest products available. The website would be the first place to indicate if any new product is available from our series of programs. Regards, [redacted] A&E Home Video Customer Care Team”
Okay then. I suppose “humbly suggest” goes out the window. I URGE you to contact A&E directly and ask that they speedily rectify this oversight. When you’re done with that, come back and offer your comments to these three proprietor-required questions:
1. Should we just be satisfied with the “Vintage World Series Film” combo ‘87/’91 series DVD?
1a. Have you or anyone you know actually seen said DVD?
2. When was the last time you volunteered to be part of a campaign that really meant something?
2a. How about one that didn’t mean much of anything?
3. How bad do you feel that you missed the competition to win a chance to meet Alyssa Milano?
3a. How comfortable are you with the idea that you might have to learn something about the Dodgers to converse with her on said meeting? (keeping in mind that trying to steer the conversation from Nomar Garciaparra to OCD and your cousin who might have it can only get you so far).
