Tuesday (in or out?) edition: Wha’ Happened?

The Twins’ season is following the plot line of a bad late night Cinemax movie (there’s only enough water for one hot shower … sounds like you’ve been having trouble with the pipes …). You can imagine what happens next. They’re at least feigning some sort of storyline, but really it’s all too predictable. For the Twins, it boils down to this: every time you think they’re cooked, they’re still in it; every time you start to believe, they head to the plate with whiffle ball bats and strands of Corey Koskie’s hair (ha! It’s even funnier because he’s balding!) and muster four hits and no runs against a mediocre journeyman like Paul Byrd. So, unlike last year, when hope seemed to fuel this team, we tell Twins fans everywhere: stop believing. Refuse to concede that the race is tightening. It’s the only way to see meaningful baseball in late September.
Quickly: A-Rod can have his 500th home run ball … when he’s ready to be reasonable. … Do you have your Michael Vick chew toy yet? … The Gophers football team opened practice at St. John’s. And, um, read more?
Mystery link! Let’s hope this doesn’t happen to the Anaheim-based Angels.
