The Internets: The best of the wurst

00000000000000000000000000000000000001sausage.jpgThe lovely RandBall Better Half sends along two links today: the first concerns, well, links of a different kind. It seems that New Braunfels, Texas, is getting set to host Wurstfest: The 10-day salute to sausage. It kind of reminds us of the time we received a certificate from Gasthof’s for eating a meter of sausage. Oh, and the first one to make the “this sounds like a real sausage party” joke loses a point.

Also, the RandBall Better Half has posted again on her own blog. It’s somewhat the equivalent of our free-form jazz experiment of a week ago.

Li’l Dice, on her fancy revamped Wolves blog, has a link to Corey Brewer roaming the streets of Turkey. Good stuff.

OK, we understand the fantasy craze — and admittedly, it was one of our first thoughts — but is it too soon to analyze the fake football implications of Travis Henry facing a one-year drug suspension in a story citing only “multiple sources? We say it’s a little too soon. Also, Henry is a little nuts.

So it’s not a sausage party?

I assure you that Lew Ford will show up on Saturday and will then continue to destroy your legion of Ghouls with the mighty power of his Elves and 20 dragsusts.

The fest kicks off with the traditional “biting of the sausage”

Just wanted to point that out.

I can already see the sequel to Potfest will be Wurstfest. Once again, the boys are able to use Grandma’s skills. What would the equivalent to quarters be with sausage?

“Randball: All about the Wurst!”

BREAKING NEWS

The first EVER RBFFL trade was just made. The Injured Underachievers (DaveMN) just received Stephen Gostkowski and Brandon Jacobs from Bears with Knives (roughkat) in return for Steven Jackson and Robbie Gould.

Injured Underachievers are obviously scrambling to get their first win. It’s an immediate improvement at the kicker position plus gives them a RB with a pulse.

Meanwhile, America’s #1 threat only has to give up a backup RB to upgrade at RB once Jackson returns to the starting lineup. No word yet on if the Rams will have any semblance of an offensive line by then or not.

One of those rare trades that makes both teams worse.

Dave MN says:

Well played, Stu

Although, with my team being the worst, I can only be worse in comparison to myself. There is actually a “down” direction for Roughkat to go in…

Dave MN says:

It’s not like he was going to play Jacobs anyway, he had a glut of RBs…

I’m sure Jackson will recover…but what does recovery mean? Continuing his average of 7 points a week? Hell, Warrick Dunn outperformed him most weeks.

I could quote Jeff Passolt with “I like a good old-fashioned skin-on weiner,” but truthfully, it’s the back-and-forth banter of blogs like these that turns me on (better than porn!)

Hey Mr. Randball, did the adorable Mrs. Randball know you before she married you? Didn’t she understand she’d come in second place on Sundays from August to January? (She’s just lucky you apparently don’t also watch 10 hours of college ball on Saturday!)

Jacobs probably has a better chance of producing decent fantasy numbers this year, in that the Giants have shown some ability to run the ball.

The Rams have gone from trendy NFC West pick to a traveshamockery in an instant. Outside of Torry Holt, I don’t think there’s a fantasy threat on the team, and even Holt’s probably in for a subpar year.

AZGG: She did know me for many years; the big thing is we haven’t had a TV for the past three years (until about a month ago). This is all quite a shock to her system. That said, we might have a new tagline for the T-shirts (whenever they come out):

RandBall — better than porn.

jama says:

I don’t know about that, how about

Randball: Almost as good as porn.

RandBall: Coming in second to porn.

Just make sure not to add an ’s’ in there, or it takes on a completely different meaning…and then the RBBH will have another blog topic.
