Dave, I don't know why so many people like Notre Dame, but maybe they really don't or maybe it's just a Catholic guilt thing to watch them, yet watching SMU isn't near as popular even though they are all Methodists, aren't they ? My take is that Knute Rockne has locked up all the sports fan's spots in Heaven. I just know for sure that 1/2 the games I get on my kickstart tv (rabbit ears) are these Notre Dame guys....makes it easy to turn off.

One good thing to come from the Clemens v. McNamee drama is Howard Sinker's blog from yesterday.

jpf

I'm with you, any top 100 list that includes Fergie should either have to be about people peeing themselves on stage or about rhyming ridiculous words together, not the top 100 bands.

I've never understood why NBC has such a massive love affair with Notre Dame.

I like college football but when it's season is over, I'm not all that bummed, and I think the problem with it is two fold....one) unless you have da dish, few teams get enough air play for most fans to know much about too many of them (this doesn't apply to Notre Dame who appear to have a sweetheart deal with God ...and 2) with so many schools (compared to the relatively few NFL teams) there is a real dilution of quality players, by definition, on any one team....in any event, last night's game could have been alot better w/o that late roughing penalty and following personal foul. By then, I was more PO'ed that the camera didn't track the LSU women in those white suits cut up to their arm pits a little more...

Wasn't Musburger busted for some morals charge somewhere, or was that the other announcer, Albert (sp) the Sr., busted for walking the dog in public like Pee-Wee did ? Tough sometimes to separate these celebrity pillars of the community...
