00000000000000000000000000000001stapp.jpgBarry Manilow was in town last night. Can you feel it in the air? The feeling that our state is just a little bit worse this morning, like maybe we’ve lost a bit of dignity that’s never coming back? Well, with our dignity gone, what better time for another edition of the weekend links!

*Via Western College Hockey here’s a reason to despise new Michigan head football coach Rich Rodiguez: he shoots a hockey puck like a drunk woman trying to shoo a cat with a broom. All together now: SIEVE! SIEVE! SIEVE!

*The fact that this story involves Roy Williams and NOT Joe Paterno is one of the great upsets in collegiate athletics history.

*Courtesy of Montreal’s Aaron Downey (now with Detroit) and Ottawa’s Brad Norton (now with San Jose), I present the worst fight in NHL history. Somebody get these guys to the Boogaard Fight Camp, stat.

*The following link is for Super Rookie, whose traitorousness in ditching the home team is worthy of a good chuckle this morning.

*And finally: if you’ve ever wanted to see a 6′9″ guy dunk on a 7′9″ guy, then here’s your chance. As a side note, somewhere, Gheorge Muresan has to be contacting his lawyers to see if Kenny George is violating copyrights of any kind.

That’s all for this Saturday morning; tune in later today for Josh Brown’s hot pants. And if you have any friends or family that are Seahawks fans, that ever try to give you the business about the Vikings, know this: all you have to do is say, “We want the ball and we’re going to score.” It *ruins* them.

[Proprietor note: How about this do-over! Weird. Just a quick gambling-related thought about that: It appears the original line was Atlanta (-2). What if you bet on the Heat and lost the bet because Atlanta won by 6? Do you now have a chance to cash your ticket (like you still have it) if Miami wins or loses by just a point? Vice-versa, can they take your money away if you bet on the Hawks?].
