The Internets: Basketball at Mariucci?

In case you missed it, prep ace John Millea had this interesting tidbit in today’s paper: some of the state high school boys’ basketball tournament is going to be played at Mariucci Arena. Why? Williams Arena was booked for a robotics convention. We can’t recall basketball ever being played at Mariucci, unless you are willing to count the time a young Nick Checco fired a wad of tape of Brian Bonin’s shin guard and into a locker room garbage can.
*Hard to tell what was worse: The Paulus flop, or the announcers’ reaction. Really, really tough call. Then again, Duke can do no wrong. That’s why everyone loves them.
*Apropos of nothing, as we walked the pug this morning we decided to try to think of long-forgotten NFL players. The first name that popped into our head? Vann McElroy. No idea why.
*There are some words you can’t say on TV. Or at least FOX. That is TV, right?
*Bud Selig extended.
