Yawn…

The game sucked except for the last 5 minutes…

I expected much more.

New England Patriots: The Worst Team in the History of Professional Football.

You stay classy, Bill Belichick.

Not surprised at all he pulled a Moss and left with 0:01 remaining.

Way to take it like a man.

Minnesnota: You must be kidding. The whole game was great. There don’t have to be points scored to make things interesting.

Indeed - it was quite interesting at 7-3 for all that time when you’re thinking, “Hmmm, if the Pat$ can get a field goal and the Giant$ an$wer with two of their own it’$ a 10-6 ballgame.”

Not sayin, just sayin.

Um. One for the Giants, one for the Pats.

One. Just one field goal each.

Still flustered from two weeks ago - apparently.

My kids fell asleep in the middle of the third quarter. I’m listening to them snore in the monitor while mopping up my co-COW. The week 17 game was a great game, and this one was, too.

I was reminded tonight why I hate this game everyday. Suddenly, people that have no idea what is going on in a football game are experts…

“It’s 16-14, that’s completely stupid that they don’t go for two, a field goal ties the game now.”

“Why aren’t they calling timeout?” (after a kickoff)

“What do you mean that’s face guarding, he didn’t pull on his face mask at all!”

And also, I don’t blame Belichek at all for leaving. What the hell were the clock operators doing the last two minutes. The clock was started, stopped and reset 10 times at the end of the game.

GO BADGERS!

I will say that the game dragged on a bit. Not to say it wasn’t interesting, but it was still a plodding defensive contest.

Personally, I’d rather have a world where the Patriots are NFL Champs and Maroney gets a ring, than a world where both Mannings have rings.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaackkkkkkkkkk.

So, so torn.

Great game. Normally LOVE the underdog story…

But took the Pats in Vegas during a trip out there in July…

Lost $X00 on that last drive…

Plus I can’t say I’m a big fan of Eli…

Still - despite the $$$ situation - helluva fun game to watch.

Sigh.

No more football for seven months.

Randball..

It was not a good super bowl. The only reason people are hyping this up so much is the Giants shocking the world factor. The middle of the game was shaped up by the colossal failure of the patriots “all-world” offensive line letting Brady get the crap beaten out of him for 4 quarters, and the Giants getting into the red zone before folding like a house of cards.

The last 5 minutes were great, but the rest of the game just was not exciting.

Just please don’t pain me by doing what Sir Sidney just did on the sport show and call this ” The greatest Super Bowl of all time.” I can name 5 better ones off the top of my head, and in fact 2 of them also involve the Patriots.

Any person who played defense at any point in any time in any sort of organized football activity should appreciate the game that was played this evening.

What a great game, the giants D-linemen played out of their minds. Belichick has no class, stay on the field. Have to admit it was sweet to see moss lose after his celebration after the touchdown. Oh and, I bet Tiki Barber feels great about his early retirement.

Minnesnota - You sound like a Patriots apologist. That was an ass kicking by the Giants D-Line, not a “colossal failure of the patriots “all-world” offensive line”.

Sir Squid was wrong, though–not the greatest of all time. Might be top 5–I’ve never ranked them.

Amazing how normal Brady looks when he doesn’t get the best pass protection ever, isn’t it?

I agree with Randball… urgh… I agree with Randball… that game (and I’m such a homer that I don’t care much for championship games unless I have vested interest) was an amazing display of emotion and intensity. I watched with both sports and non-sports fans alike, and we all recognized this was a dramatic and emotional game by the players and coaches - not just an exhibition of talent.

It reminded me of the game 7 of the ‘91 World Series. And the final score of that game was?

The only problem I have with the outcome of the game is that Dan Cole will be insufferable for months. Otherwise it was a great game.

Toonces51 says:

Ummm…how does the outcome of the game impact the insufferability of Dan Cole? Pretty much would be regardless.
