From the AP: A spokesman for Texas Tech athletic director Gerald Myers says men’s basketball coach Bob Knight has resigned, effective immediately.
And that’s literally the entire story. Your thoughts?

If the Gophers didn’t already have Tubby I would say yeah! Knight is available, even though they wouldn’t have the guts to sign him. But now I am wondering if he might end up in the Big 10. Michigan maybe? That would be funny.

I think Sid is close personal friends with whoever happens to be in the now at the moment.
Don’t get me wrong I like to read Sid’s column because he keeps track of the local athletes that are on the national scene.

Michigan just hired Beilien(sp?) from West Virginia this past off season for a large sum of money. I don’t see him going there. He could go to Penn St. or Northwestern though since their teams continually suck.
Is Bobby Knight going to get ripped for leaving his team in the middle of the season like Bobby Petrino did?
I know Petrino’s was worse but if Knight doesn’t have any health problems he should have stuck it out until the end of the season or he should have retired after last season. I think he should take a little flack.
jama: to an extent I agree, but Knight would have to go to another team today for it to be truly similar.
Still, you’d like to think he’ll get some heat for this, although he still had media support when he was choking kids, so this is small beer, comparatively.
