A rather unfortunate “own goal”

In case you didn’t see it, Nicklas Backstrom — the player from the Capitals, not the “C”-less goalie for the Wild — had a tough game yesterday. Tied 2-2 with the Penguins with less than 30 seconds left, a centering pass is made in front of the net, and Backstrom picks the corner beautifully to make it 3-2. Problem is: It was his own net. Ouch. Watch the reactions of his teammates and wait until the end for the Pittsburgh players’ reactions. Priceless.

It’s not his fault the goalie couldn’t make the stop!
Easiest…goal…ever…
“Scoring an own goal” is an excellent metaphor.
I hear Dave scores an own goal at least thrice a week. Dave any response to these allegations?
Scoring on his own team like Backstrom did was sorta like Favre throwing away the game on that last int. Hah ! Beat you to the punch, Dave…
The fix is in. Wade takes a dive. Heat still receive #1 pick. Wolves fall to #5. I’m soon going to start charging for these types of readings.

Two signs it’s a crappy time of year for sports:
NBC broadcasts a hockey game.
I watched a Canadian Football League game on Saturday. (What’s with two 50-yard-lines, eh?)

Are you looking for a response along the lines of, “if you want it done right, you’ve gotta do it yourself”?

It was a compromise between the CFL, the House of Gords and Neil Young.
testing to see if I properly fixed the time problem.
By the way, the COW is Stensation for his Lebowski Fest Q&A. He should be delivering his guest post — a report from said Fest — either later today or for early tomorrow.
Backstrom - You’re a superstar. You’re the best.
Heh.
Dave must be doing it right himself, since he has chronic carpal tunnel syndrome…HardeHar
