The fab five who knocked out the Wolves

Just so we’re clear, here is a quick look at five of the Pistons players who — in the absence of Rasheed Wallace, Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton — helped Detroit overcome a 21-point deficit to defeat the Wolves last night:
Cheikh Samb (pictured): A 7-1 rookie from the Senegal who was recalled from the D-League on March 22.
Walter Hermann: A 6-9 second-year forward who did not play college basketball and who looks more like an Allman Brothers roadie.
Amir Johnson: A third-year player who also did not play college ball but did play close to three times as many minutes against the Wolves as he averages. His minutes were apparently cut a couple weeks back as he fell out of the rotation when Theo Ratliff arrived. Not so on Tuesday, apparently.
Aaron Afflalo: UCLA rookie only starting because Hamilton only played big minutes (34) with Hamilton out. He, too, was pretty much out of the rotation as of a couple weeks ago.
Rodney Stuckey: Rookie guard from Eastern Washington who, to be fair, we think is going to be quite a player. Still his 27 points were about 20 more than his average.

The Timberwolves slogan this year was “Let’s Build It.” If you extend that metaphor to building a house, this loss was the equivalent of discovering 85% of the way through construction that the foundation was built out of stale bread, Spam cans, and oatmeal.
the foundation was built out of stale bread, Spam cans, and oatmeal, then eaten by Stanley Roberts.
…or smoked by Stojko Vrankovic
Boy if we beat Utah again, are they gonna be pissed.
“Boy if we beat Utah again, are they gonna be pissed.”
Disregard… is it too late to start tanking?
Am I talking about the Twins?
