The Internets: Torii’s slam and Giants of the North

appendix.jpgIt wasn’t the best of days for Twins fans when dealing with grand slams yesterday. Not only did Joe Crede put one on the board off Pat Neshek to sink the Twins in Chicago, but Torii Hunter also had a walk-off granny for the Angels and is white hot since a tough start here at the Dome. At least Torii’s hit defeated Cleveland.

*From The Sun (U.K.):

MEET the little footballers who’ve become big stars — playing for the world’s first dwarf team. The Brazilian side call themselves The Giants Of The North. And their matches have been drawing massive crowds in Belem, in the north east of the country. Their coach Lucena — who isn’t a dwarf — has been getting them in shape for matches.

*ESPN.com can go ahead and update their interwebs preview of the Wild/Colorado series to at least include a mention of Nick Schultz’s appendectomy whenever it pleases.

*Your college basketball champion: Tulsa. Hey, they won the best of three fair and square.
