Stu’s Hunt Down: Ndudi Ebi
Posted on April 11th, 2008 – 10:30 AMBy Michael Rand
Name: Ndudi Ebi
Nickname: per David Stern, “Doody Ebee.”
Claim to Fame, Minnesota: was the T-Wolves’ first-round pick in 2003. Would reward the Timberwolves’ braintrust by playing 19 games and scoring 40 points before being released in 2005. Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks took All-Star Josh Howard three picks later.
Claim to Fame, Everywhere Else: Wikipedia says he committed to attending the University of Arizona before declaring for the NBA draft. See how you are, Tucson? See how you are? Now, go back to being Tempe’s less-interesting sister with emotional problems*.
Where He Is Now: Ebi is honest-to-Marth tearing it up for Bnei HaSharon in the Israeli Basketball Super League, or as I like to call it, Ligat Winner. He was even named Round 20 MVP by Eurobasket.com. I am assured that is meaningful.
Glorious Randomness: Can there be anything more gloriously random than finding out Ndudi Ebi is playing basketball somewhere at a high level? It’s like finding out Lew Ford did something fundamentally sound. That said, it’s should be noted that if you plug “Ndudi Ebi” into the Strib’s search engine, it asks, “Were you looking for nudity ebb?” No, really.
*I’ve never been to Tucson.
