The Internets: Quick release, nemesis from BC

Jason Kapono can catch and release a shot in 0.22 seconds. If he — or anybody for that matter — could prove that he could release it just a couple of ticks sooner, the NBA might have to reconsider that rule stating there must be at least 0.3 seconds left for a real shot (as opposed to just a tip-in). Or, if the NBA ever went to hundredths of seconds instead of just tenths, Kapono could be the poster boy for change.
*Boston College ended North Dakota’s hockey season at the Frozen Four for the third consecutive year. Just thought that might help a few of you through this dreary day. The Eagles will face surprise Notre Dame for college hockey supremacy, among other things.
*Fire Joe Morgan goes off. Tell it like it is, Mose Schrute.
*Speaking of Schrute, on a scale of 1-10, we give last night’s return episode of “30 Rock” a 9, and “The Office” a 4. Are they trying to kill one of the best shows around? Seems that way.
*An excellent quiz as to the value of some of your favorite baseball cards. Prepare to be depressed.
