The Internets: Can you have a “friendly” with Iran?

Thanks to jay-to-the-z for the heads up that Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy are working on scheduling a friendly match against the Iranian National Team in May. We’re not sure if an invasion of said country would take the “keen wing-ding-ness” out of the friendly, but we have to imagine that to be the case. (Picture of the Galaxy’s David Beckham from ye olde Star Tribune last October at the Dome).
*A nice tale of sportsmanship in college softball.
*There will be no change in the BCS, which is great news for people who like things that don’t make any sense. Clobbering donkey umbrella sweepstakes.
*The Big Lead wonders what — or who — got Avery Johnson fired.
*Vikings War Cry finds a weatherman’s excitement over Jared Allen to be unsettling though not a Freudian slip. That seems about right.

If I were Chris Schaffer, I’d be pretty excited too.
Two soc-cer posts in one day?? What the heck’s going on around here?
Well in that case, January ham hock duct tape seashore lima bean eleventy hombre. I guess I’m just the last fan that wants the season to be about the season and not about the playoff.
Thunder season must be starting up!
