Honoring Kenechi Udeze

Thanks to Anthony Hall — no relation to Anthony Michael Hall, we presume — for passing along this link to the AOL FanHaus that urges folks to join the national bone marrow registry to help those like the Vikings’ Kenechi Udeze in their battle against leukemia.
Though you can’t directly help Udeze’s fight against leukemia, you can honor it by joining the National Marrow Donor Registry. Normally, there is a cost to join the registry, but during the “Thanks Mom Campaign,” from May 5-19, the charges to join the registry are waived for the first 10,000 online signups. You fill out the form, and then they send you a cheek swab kit by mail. Some irresponsible TV shows make it look like donating marrow is very painful process, but for most people it can be done in a procedure not much different than giving platelets.
A good thought, a worthy cause, and a diversion from Jared Allen-mania.

a diversion from Jared Allen-mania.
I think “welcome diversion” is justified in this case. Let’s let Allen play a snap for the Vikes before we anoint him The Purple Baptist.

You’re trying to get the Purple Baptist adopted huh? I think the Grim Reaper is going to catch on. If it was up to me I go with calling him the leader of the Purple Necks. Get it, he is a Red Neck, but since he plays for the Vikings, ah forget it.
I don’t know that I want it to be adopted, it just seemed like a logical progression with our new stars. What else could he be? “Purple Moses”? “Purple Loki”?
Purple Pat Robertson
Well since the names seem to be progressing along Jesus’s life let’s go with Adolescent Jesus. That leaves room for future players.
Baby Jesus- Joe Mauer
Purple Jesus- Adrian Peterson
Adolescent Jesus- Jared Allen
Mullet Jesus?
Fu Man Chu Jesus?
Drinking one too many Jesus?

We could just call him Friar Tuck. He’s (somewhat)religous and loved his ale…
In Kenechi’s honor I just went to the hospital and donated marrow. When I got there, also in his honor, I put a swim move on the reception lady and just missed sacking the nurse.
