What has touched your hot dog at the ballpark?

Let’s end the day with some “ewwwww.” Paul W. sends us this link from Portfolio.com to the health code violation record at 11 Major League ballparks. There is an awesome interactive graphic, and these words:

Two West Coast teams, the Los Angeles Angels and the Oakland A’s, had far more food fouls than any other team. While most were minor, some were, well, disgusting. Teams contract out food service to a handful of vendors, though team management is responsible for stadium cleanliness. The A’s declined to comment; a spokesperson for the Angels conceded that 2007 was an off year but that the team had worked with its vendor and an outside consultant and “made a lot of changes” for 2008.

Yeah, according to the graphic there were 732 violations in Anaheim last year, including a “major vermin violation” and a “cockroach infestation.” Yum.

Normally, TGIM would be shocking and offensive to say, but when it comes to the difference between ESPN’s Sunday and Monday announcing crews, today was a refreshing change from Joe Morgan’s shenanigans. And a hell of a game, at that!
