Where was Lebron’s living example of how to properly show respect to a lady? Where was dad (or a real man) to invest in Lebron? After all, doesn’t a King get groomed for the throne? Or have we just witnessed another immensely talented “kid” who is sitting in his castle of sand.. king for the day!

I wonder what would have happened if Barbara Bush did a news conference after the first gulf war and said “You leave my husband alone! It makes him look weak. Having your mommy trying to come and help you when (even though I consider him a kid still) you are a grown ass man, makes you look weak. She was wrong. Lebron was justified. She should be fined for getting invoved in the game. That or Lebron makes her write on the chalkboard “I will not emasculate my son, on national television in front of millions of people ever again. I should be lucky to have such a rich son. Who can buy me lots of nice things. I wasnt thinking at the time and Im sorry.”

Or something like that…..

goat - if you don’t get the wider socio-political ramifications of this story you’re not looking close enough. It’s about racism, sexism, the post-Freudian pre-Jungian mind… this story is more important than just the game itself.

It’s a metaphor for the disintegration of values in a post-Modern Western society. Anyone can see that.

Case in point: What does Russell, Havlicek and Bird think about those black stripes running down the sides of Celtic jerseys?

As a mother, I wonder if that’s behavior he learned at home growing up, or if it’s a product of his more recent environment. I always cringe when my 4 year old says something that clearly he heard from me (though I will say none of his words have been of the ass ilk.)

I would also say that there is something to be said for a mother’s protective instinct. I don’t think you can just turn that off.

As a mother of a ballplayer and an x-ballplayer, I know better. You can always tell when women don’t know anything about the game, they do stupid stuff like Ms. James. On the other hand, her son owes her an apology for swearing at her. No son, how rich or poor, young or old, smart or stupid, should tell his only mother to “sit her ass down!” All he had to say was “Mom, I’m okay.” HOLLA
