Weekend links (best of!) with Jon Marthaler

Proprietor note: Thanks for bearing with us through a week off. There will be nothing but what you see now staring you in the face on Monday, Memorial Day. On Tuesday, we plan to be back at you with fresh material. Or at least slightly warmed over material. Now, Jon has the stage:
It’s been just about a year since RandBall started running the regular Weekend Links on Saturdays. In honor of this very approximate milestone, I’ve quickly scoured the archives, and come up with some of my favorite weekend links of the year.
*First, and most important, of all: my favorite (non-sports-related) video of the year. It’s all downhill from there, really.
*Homer Derby had video footage of a skiing outing with the Miller Park Racing Sausages. Keep an eye out for two things: first, the bratwurst falling down, hurting himself, and having to be dragged off by ski patrol, presumably for “disposal” at John Kruk’s house. Second, look out for Lou Dobbs, dressed as an Italian sausage, taking out the chorizo.
*Regular readers know that Fire Joe Morgan and Every Day Should Be Saturday make regular appearances in this space. Here’s my favorite links of the year from both: FJM on Steve Phillips, and EDSBS on Jon Tenuta’s interview with Charlie Weis. [You are advised to watch out for language saltiness].
*For whatever reason, I find Mr. Met to be the absolute height of mascot-related comedy; here’s my favorite picture in a very long time.
*And finally, a few other funny pictures:
Typical Warriors fans.
In case you didn’t know, that’s Mark Mangino on the right.
And here’s Deadspin proprietor Will Leitch kissing a dog.
That’ll do it for me; enjoy whatever the heck day this is.
