Weekend Links with Jon Marthaler
Posted on June 7th, 2008 – 10:03 AMBy Michael Rand
Let’s dive right in this weekend:
*With the news that Will Leitch is quitting as Deadspin editor, inquiring minds want to know: is Michael Rand the next Deadspin chief? (Proprietor note: Er. Um. No.)
*Tired of mainstream NBA Finals coverage? Why not check out Rajon Rondo’s new official website, which comes complete with musical accompaniment and the following quote: “Instead of going to the club on Friday nights during the summer, the point guard can be found cruising around local roller skating rinks enjoys rhythmic roller skating. He boldly claims to be the best skater in the [NBA]. During the off season Rajon will venture to the rink a few times per week and practice the moves he learned from the two movies, Roll Bounce and ATL.”
*Oh, Chuck Klosterman, we love you so.
*At least David Stern is completely honest about his reasons for moving the NBA Finals to the middle of the night: It’s all about the cash!
*And finally: an odd story about how one man fell in love with soccer, and apparently, lost his job in the process. Given that the 2008 European Championships begin today — live, on ESPN2 and ESPN Classic! — there may be no better time for this.
Enjoy your Saturday - no matter how rainy it might be.

Well, if Michael did take over Deadspin, the use of [redacted] would become irrelevant. I’ve grown attached to [redacted] and it would be a [redacted] shame if it vanished.
Juan Rincon, you’re killing me.
I’m just hoping he reads this.
It’s my [redacted] in a box!
